Patagonia is one of the last great wilderness regions on Earth, a land of towering mountains, ancient forests, crystal-clear rivers and endless valleys where nature still dominates the landscape. Located in the Province of Neuquén, approximately 1,100 miles southwest of Buenos Aires, this remarkable region offers some of the most authentic hunting and fishing experiences available anywhere in South America.

Our hunting area lies in the heart of the Patagonian Andes, where Red Stags and Wild Boars, originally introduced from Europe more than a century ago, found ideal conditions to thrive. Over generations these animals naturally expanded throughout the surrounding mountains, developing completely free-ranging populations that continue to live with very limited human contact.

The combination of vast open spaces, abundant water, native vegetation and low hunting pressure has created an exceptional environment for truly wild game. Every hunt is conducted in a natural setting where the behavior of the animals is determined entirely by nature rather than by artificial management.

Mountain hunting in Patagonia is both challenging and rewarding. Each day is carefully planned according to weather conditions, game movements and the individual expectations of each hunter. Access to the different hunting areas is primarily by 4WD vehicles through an extensive network of mountain roads, while horseback riding is used whenever terrain or hunting conditions make it the best option.

Beyond the hunt itself, Patagonia offers breathtaking scenery at every turn. Snow-capped peaks, colorful valleys, ancient forests and pristine streams provide an unforgettable backdrop that transforms every day in the field into a complete outdoor experience.

Our Patagonia hunting programs are based at Corral de Piedra, the main hunting lodge and operational headquarters of Argentina Big Hunting in the region, from where all of our mountain hunting adventures begin.

Corral de Piedra Hunting Lodge

Corral de Piedra Hunting Lodge main lodge interior

Corral de Piedra is the main operational base of Argentina Big Hunting in Patagonia and the starting point of all our mountain hunting programs. Nestled in the heart of the Neuquén Andes, it provides direct access to approximately 60,000 acres of private hunting land, where Red Stags and Wild Boars roam completely free in one of the most beautiful and unspoiled environments in South America.

The lodge occupies a privileged location within the hunting area, allowing our guides to efficiently reach the different sectors of the ranch by 4WD vehicles through an extensive network of internal roads. Depending on weather conditions and the hunting plan for the day, horseback riding may also be used to access more remote areas.

Built in traditional Patagonian style, Corral de Piedra combines the warmth of a mountain home with the comfort expected by today's international travelers. The lodge features five comfortable guest rooms with private bathrooms, spacious social areas and magnificent views of the surrounding valleys and mountains. During the hunting season it is common to watch Red Stags grazing on the hillsides around the lodge, reminding guests that they are immersed in a truly wild environment.

One of the features that distinguishes Corral de Piedra is the personal attention provided throughout every stay. The hunting operation is personally supervised by experienced hunters and professional guides who remain actively involved in each safari. Their direct participation allows daily hunting plans to be adjusted according to weather conditions, game movements and each hunter's expectations, ensuring that every opportunity in the field is fully taken advantage of.

After returning from the mountains, guests gather around the wood-burning stove to relax, exchange stories from the day's hunt and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere that makes Patagonia such a special destination.

Dining is an important part of the Corral de Piedra experience. Our kitchen combines traditional Argentine cuisine with regional specialties, featuring premium Argentine beef together with a variety of carefully prepared venison dishes. For many hunters, one of the highlights of the week is enjoying the game harvested during their own safari while sharing the table with friends and reliving the day's adventures. Homemade smoked trout, wild boar specialties, regional appetizers and carefully selected Argentine wines complete an authentic Patagonian culinary experience.

Another favorite gathering place is the indoor Argentine barbecue, where traditional asados are prepared regardless of the weather outside. Even on cold or rainy evenings, guests can enjoy some of Argentina's finest meats in a warm and relaxed atmosphere while planning the next day's hunt.

Hunters arrive through Chapelco Airport in San Martín de los Andes, where our staff provides reception and assistance before a scenic drive of less than two hours through the spectacular Andean landscape to the lodge.
